The Owlet - Community for Creatives
Hi friends,
Greetings from Sonipat, Haryana!
Last week, I attended the Bangalore Poetry Festival, where I got my first proper introduction into the world of poetry. I attended seminars, listening to experts exploring the nuances of this literary art. I watched poets recite their work with a passionate intensity.
One poet, Shobhana Kumar, extolled the virtues of having a community of creative people. She spoke of how a small populace of people in the same craft gets your creative juices flowing, enthusing you in an ardent fervour. Peers provide fresh insight into your work, upping its standard and appeal.
I found this highly insightful. By working together, creatives can harness the "Wisdom of Crowds" to reach their full potential. Guess the question is, how does one form such a community?
Let me know your thoughts!

Photo-Story
Many years ago, I was in the salt pans of Point Calimere, Tamil Nadu, looking for migratory shore birds. I had visited the place to observe how these birds were studied, as part of the bird watching club of my school.
While roaming the landscape, I came across this boat tied to its post. Its owner was nowhere to be seen, with it simply bouncing in the calm water. I saw the various hues of blue in the landscape, and made this composition. Fortunately, I had my camera with me, and thus made this shot.
Now I can’t remember why I had my camera on me. My camera had a wide angle lens, something that would prove useless for most bird photography. And yet if I didn’t carry it, I wouldn’t have gotten this shot. Just got lucky I guess.
