Ishan you're an editing genius and I really enjoyed this piece. The imagery you create in the first paragraph with your laptop and the detail about the 9738 elephants is genius.
This is a great suggestion. I used to develop BNW photos in the darkroom we had a my college at university.
The beauty of setting constraints and narrowing down is that we take away the extra noise that hinders us from seeing the essence of what’s already there, but which gets drowned out in the noise of everything else.
Woah, you got to use a darkroom?!?!? I've done that only once. Man, that's the real stuff—it doesn't get more hands on than that. You're lucky Eric; not many people have that opportunity!
Great post, Ishan. Love the B&W photos and the story of how you got to make that decision to remove color. Reminds me of how sculptors have to remove a lot from a piece of marble to reveal a masterpiece. You're well on your way to do the same!
I love this glimpse into your creative process. Not long after meeting you I believe the words “you have to check these photos out” came out of my mouth.
The new site is looking great Ishan! I heard that Dr Suess wrote The Cat in the Hat on a dare from his publisher to write a book using no more than 50 different words. It kinda worked.

Ishan - I finally got the wifi bandwidth to watch that Banff YouTube. It was hugely valuable to me. Thanks!
Oh yes, it is the kind of video you'd like. Well, I'm glad you benefitted. Next time I find something like that, I'm sending it to you directly :)
Please!
