I love that you are capturing your journey and I love reading about it, Ishan. I can't get over the tiny frogs and the huge trees in Munnar, quite the dichotomy! Searching for wildlife may not be glamorous but the patience and solitude it requires comes with its own form of beauty. Looking forward to hearing more about where your adventures take you!

Haley! Dude, you gotta come to India. I'm sure you'll love the rainforests here. Seeing those tiny frogs under those gigantic trees will make you dizzy—in a good way!

I love what you said about the patience and solitude that comes from searching for wildlife has its own form of beauty. As usual, you've put an poetic spin on your thoughts. Love it!

The one book I tell everyone they must read is Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I keep extra copies so I can give them out to people. I try to read it once a year. I'd be happy to send you a copy if you are interested.

Randy, you're the second person to tell me about this book. Rick said it as well in his comment. I'm going to definitely read it. Could you send me the soft copy if you have it?

Hey man! Sorry for the delay, I'm trying to catch on my substacks. This is one book I only have in hard copy. But I have extras. Be happy to snail mail one to you if you give me your address.

Was just talking to a friend yesterday who has started to get into bird pics. She’s been going out and spending time on it but it gets so hot in FL so fast and the specific endangered bird she’s looking for is not being very cooperative with appearing. Massive pain to take wildlife pics sometimes.

I feel like I have so many books to recommend but have a hard time picking just one because they’re all from different genres. I’ll stay broad and go Meditations by Marcus Aurelius (Gregory Hays translation) for its timelessness. Let me know if you want more!

Hey that's great that your friend is dabbling in bird photography. I would love to know which endangered bird she's after. Could you ask her and tell me?

Woah Rick, "timeless" is a very powerful adjective. I'll definitely check this out!

Hi Ishan, your Percy Jackson books reminded me of the Emilio Salgari adventures I used to read as a teenager. I could read them in a couple of days and wanted to go immediately to the book store to get the following one. To my sons, however, they were too slow. And they are also Rick Riordan readers so I suspect they might seem the same to you. In any case, these are books of adventures in SE Asia written in the 19th century by an Italian guy who never left Italy, so they should feel old fashioned. But I loved them regardless.

Hey Martin, thank you so much! I've never heard of Emilio Salgari, but I'm going to look him up now. Once I start reading it, I'll let you know how I like it.

Don't worry about old-fashioned. I love older books!

Eye-opening, but it makes sense there'd be a lot of patience involved. I had a small part in a couple of films years ago and it reminds me of that. Look glamorous in the end, but is tedious in the making. And I LOVE that miniature frog photo. That's so cool! Thank you for the work you put in to capturing and sharing this work.

Woah, back up for a second. You just casually said that you had a small part in a couple of films. I NEED to know the story behind that Rick. Have you written about that? How come I never knew this before?!?!?!

Don't get too excited. They were all non-speaking appearances doing various circus stunts and physical comedy. The one that was the most fun was being a stunt double for Jim Varney who did all the silly "Ernest" movies. That might be worth writing about one day, but the rest are truly unremarkable appearances.

That is still pretty cool, Rick. I think it's damn cool!
